Your Android Wear Smartwatch Can Now Control Your Phone's Camera

Your Android Wear Smartwatch Can Now Control Your Phone's Camera
Google updated its Google Camera app Wednesday to add support for Android Wear.
This means that you can use your smartwatch — such as the LG G Watch for Samsung Gear Live — as a remote trigger for the camera on your smartphone or tablet.

To launch the app on your smartwatch, simply open the Google Camera app on your phone. Your Android Wear device will then display a card for remote capture. From there, you can touch an enlarged shutter button to snap a pic. There's a countdown; the phone takes the picture, and then a preview image appears right on your wrist.
We love the remote-capture features on the Gear 2 and the Pebble, so it's great to see Google officially adding this feature. As a smartwatch user,
I find remote trigger infinitely more useful than actually having a camera on the smartwatch. There are plenty of circumstances where you might want to take a photo (or a selife), but have a hard time actually activating the shutter.
Here's to hoping other camera apps — including Instagram and Vine — consider adding Android Wear compatibility. Seriously, how great would a wrist-mounted remote trigger be for avid stop-motion Viners?
The update for Google Camera is available now in Google Play.
